Easiest process of baking terracotta Jewellery at home . Item used for baking: 1.Charcoal 2.Coconut husk 3.Saw Dust 4.Kerosene oil 5.Earthen pot

There are several process to bake terracotta Jewellery. You may bake your jewellery by using Kiln. If you use Kiln for firing then its turn red color. But if you go for reduction process the its turn black color. As I do not have an Kiln at my home I go for reduction process for baking the Jewellery.

This is a very traditional method of firing clay items. I just took a small clay pot for firing the charcoal. You have to wait for at least 15 to 20 mins for firing all charcoals. Here I use  Kerosene oil for firing the charcoal. Then I took a big clay pot. In the pot at first I put saw dust then Terracotta Jewellery then again saw dust. In this way I made several layers. At the end I put all fired hot charcoal on top of the layers. It takes minimum 7 to 8 hrs. for burring.  After 7 to 8 hours wait for the cool down the whole stuffs. Usually I kept it aside whole night for cooling down. Next day I used to check whether all stuffs got fired or not. One technique I apply for quality checking is  put all fired terracotta Jewellery into water for minimum12 hours. If any of them is unburned then it will  be automatically melted into the water. This process is completely my choice. Please watch the full video. Here I upload step by step all process of firing the terracotta Jewellery.
